The Freeman: the Georgist Years



In 1981, on the 40th anniversary of American Journal of Economics and Sociology, Will Lissner reflected on the origins and history of that Journal. He included notes that also describe his role in the creation of The Freeman. Here is that article from the Journal.





In November 1937, Frank Chodorov and Will Lissner joined forces to create The Freeman. This monthly periodical continued to be published by The Freeman Corporation in New York until 1943. The School of Cooperative Individualism has begun the process of reviewing The Freeman and selecting key articles to be resurrected for today's readers.
